Silly gay marriage and Christians

May 22, 2009 · 4 Comments

Everybody knows that I am so sick of Christians who are against gay marriage. They have silly and insulting arguments, like, “Why don’t we all just marry our dogs then?” or arguments that don’t have any kind of foundation, like, “We believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.” Just because you believe doesn’t make it a fact. It’s like using matchsticks as steel girders when building a new building. It’s going to fail, obviously. So it makes me realise and laugh at what a bunch of hypocrites they are for saying such things. This blog post points out just how religious people who are against same-sex marriage are a huge bunch of hypocrites.

“According to Deuteronomy 22:28-29 a man can marry his rape victim, Deuteronomy 21:11-14 says a man can marry his female prisoner of war, Judges 19:1-30 reminds us that a man is not limited to his wife, he may take concubines.”

What annoys me about this is that Christians who are against gay marriage say that marriage should be between a man and a woman, because apparently, as long as there’s a man and a woman, it’s a lot better than what those dirty gays could offer. Even if there is cheating and ownership of a woman as if she’s property. Gosh, you gotta love that hypocrisy!

I remember watching this thing on Sunrise about same-sex marriage (I can’t find the bloody video), and they were asking whether or not Australia should allow gay marriage. The opposition, apart of a huge conservative religious political group was against it and used the “arguments” above, which is typical. He also even added that in no way a same-sex relationship could possibly be stable because of polygamy and because there would be so much cheating. The people for same-sex marriage – who were same-sex couple – blew his insult right out of the water by telling him that they have been in a relationship for 16 years and are still together in fact.

But in other (better) news, a 9 year old organises an equal rights rally!

I remembered something on that show about gay parents not being adequate enough to raise kids. Again, a load of bullshit. I think they should be focusing on what the child wants or needs and questioning the parenting skills of the parents themselves, instead of stating something about the environment being not suitable. But I think it’s time that Christians “research themselves” on the subject of marriage and what not from their precious bible before attacking innocent people who choose to live life differently.

Why aren’t christians equally as angry about red lobster, eating shrimp is an abomination according to leviticus. They pick and choose their battles.

I remembered one hard core guy ranting about the Australian Platypus being a demon from hell; if God didn’t like the platypus or crustaceans, why did he waste the energy making them all? The minds of religious people boggle me, including their precious god and what goes in his head.

yeah this whole anti-gay thing just gets annoying after a while.
There’s this really cool thing on The West Wing (#2 best show ever) in season 1 and President Bartlett just shuts down this woman. And it was like all based on bible entries and stuff…if i find the time to download it to the computer i’ll send it to you.
