No, it wasn’t sexual orientation day, but it was orientation day at Tafe today. And I went. And I was the best ever for going.

So anyway, as usual, when someone starts talking, I just get bored and tune out. Which resulted in me “drawing” these pretty “pictures”.

Turns out this course is in high demand, and there’s a long waiting list, plus I got in. Is that awesome or what? I think I’ll have to read what I wrote when they asked me to write 250 words or so on why I should be chosen for this course. I must’ve written some weird shit if I got in.

My computer was on the fritz so I couldn’t write about World Youth Day (WYD), but now that I’ve got it back… my God, WYD, you are going to get the beating of your life after school.

I consider myself quite an open-minded and tolerant person. If I wasn’t, the impatient side of me would surface and I’d probably commit suicide, considering the amount of shit that happens in society. But even the most open-minded and tolerant person - ie. me - can have a deep hate for some things. And for me, it’s religion. Why do I hate religion? Oh, never mind the amount of human oppressing that religion does/creates by looking negatively on queer people, or using women’s bodies as battlegrounds, or the way it’s got a hold on today’s government these days and pretty much dictates every law in Australia. No, I don’t mind that religion does those things. Though ironically enough, I don’t mind that people have a faith, and I do certainly believe that there is some higher power up there.

I first got note of WYD when I was hanging out in the city with my friends. I saw this flag on this street light pole, and said to myself, “Ooh, is the government actually considering and taking importance in the youth today by abolishing those ridiculously high and expensive uni fees?” And then I look onto lower parts of the flag and saw the Cross. I was like, “Hang me up on that cross, cos I am going to fucking die with this religion.” Why do they go about calling it “World Youth Day” as well? Seems like some stupid ruse to get young people into the religion again. Uh, young people quit religion for a reason you know.

So now that you know why I hate religion so much, I’m going to talk about the pilgrims. Personally, I don’t think those people deserve to be called pilgrims. Those people during the Crusades are what I fucking call pilgrims. And they are bloody annoying! You could usually spot them because they’d be wearing those stupid WYD bags and/or jackets, that were bright orange and yellow. Jeez, you know, you’re 20 years late; the 80s were a great time, but it’s passed now. You would also notice that they would stick together in large groups and they’d take up THE WHOLE FUCKING PATH SO I COULDN’T POSSIBLY WALK PAST THEM. I’m in a hurry to get to work and they’re just dawdling along. You know, some people prioritise and realise that there are better things to be doing than watching some old dude in white. If I wanted to do that, I’d go watch Elvis.

You know what else pisses me off so much about WYD? The fact that there was so much press coverage on this. So what I saw this was the Pope making a speech and then driving around in his Pope mobile. I just want to know what is so interesting about watching an old dude waving to people. And then some “pilgrims” complained that the driver was driving too fast. I’ll show what’s driving fast in Sydney, you damn pilgrims.

And get off my lawn.

I just lost my computer for a whole friggin’ week and now I’ve got 77 emails to read and 339 items in my RSS reader.

I’m going all out rant mode here.

I was out ‘n’ about today, and walked past a guy who was talking on his phone. He was obviously complaining about someone and decided to go all out by using a one-two punch by using two insults and combining it into one insult. So I was walking past him and he goes, “… fucking curry mad-cunt…” What. The. Fuck.

How does one say racist and sexist things like that? Oh, and get this, this guy was a white male. How does this matter?

Consider this:

• White people invaded land and killed innocent natives of that land. They introduced diseases such as small pox, measles, introduced alcoholism and drug use/abuse and introduced the concept of land ownership. In Australia, white people stole a whole generation of Aborigines in order to “breed out” them, hoping to eventually get rid of them completely.
• Men have pretty much felt that they own women, by oppressing them, dehumanising them and using their bodies as a battleground, thinking that they can choose what a woman can do with her own body.

So where the fuck does he - the guy who is white and male, and probably has ancestors that have caused so much hate and problems in the world that I’ve briefly explained in my two points above - gets off using slurs like that? That pisses me off. A lot. Like, I’m going to go postal soon.

Why doesn’t he realise what he’s perpetuating with racist and sexist slurs like that? Oh, that’s right, he’s got PRIVILEGE. White men have pretty much “ruled” the whole world, taking top spots in corporations and politics. How they want to see the world is fine and dandy for them because they’re the ones making the shots. It’s obvious that the guy who used such insult doesn’t see where other people stand. That is, the people who stand as second-class citizens. It’s too bad he’s swinging his massive head around, failing to see other social problems that people have because I would seriously love to take some time off and throw a dart at that massive head of his.

Oh, and don’t give me that, “There are slurs for men and white people too!” because that’s just a fucking shit argument. I fucking wonder why there are slurs like that in the first place? Probably in retaliation to the fucking offensive shit that’s already being thrown around like it doesn’t matter.

This is where I sometimes wish I could go all out Batman-style. I don’t like to intimidate, but it usually is the quickest and most efficient way to get your point across. So sometimes I wish I could capture guys like the one I just ranted about and hang him off the edge of a cliff and tell him to stop saying borderline hate speech like that because stuff like that is wrong. Oh, if only I could. I would then hire an interior decorator to furnish my Batcave.

FUCK.

I swear, if I ever get a wireless router installed ever again, there’ll have to be a pretty good reason for it. The last two hours or so were just tortuous.

Now I have to admit that I hop onto the bad side and do illegal downloading. Depends on what I’m downloading - sometimes I have tons to download, sometimes I’ll have one movie to download, though most of the time, I find I’m downloading a lot considering that at two years since having the Internet, I know that there’s a lot more to discover. Which means I’m discovering a lot of shows that aren’t available in Australia. This also means that even if it does get to Australia, I’ll probably have already watched it all anyway and totally spoil it for my friends.

Thing is, I’m discovering a lot more, and downloading a lot more. I remember when I first used the Internet, and throughout my whole first month, I only did about 2 gigabytes worth of web-surfing. This was with my sister’s web surfing too. Now, we use a whole 12 gigs. Ha! But I digress.

Anywho, so as you know, I download using p2p programs (if you must know, I use Azureus Vuze) and then I noticed that the status of the downloads wasn’t a green smiley face, which means that everything is fine. I then realised that this had happened a week ago, when we got the new router installed. Now I didn’t want the router installed. My dad did. Mind you, I was totally against this idea.

But I was like, “Whatever, let’s see how this goes.” And then that problem started happening. I started freaking out, because if I don’t get the green smiley faces, it’s obviously not working, and that also means lowered downloading speeds. So during that time, I spent a few furious hours for the past few days looking for a solution, but nothing seemed to work. So I called the guy who installed the router, and he couldn’t get it fixed either, until about two hours later, like I said before, he did something and now it seems okay. I’m still skeptical, but I’ll see how this goes. If this completely fucks up, I think I might go fucking postal.

M’kay, rant over.

Today, I was reminded why I dislike driving and cars altogether with a passion. The reason why I don’t like cars is because they’re clumsy modes of transport; they’re just big pieces of metal with wheels and they take up the roads blocking everybody.

Just two weeks ago, I got my Learner’s licence, which means I can learn to drive with supervision. Why I decided to get my Learner’s licence, I will never know why, because as much as I dislike cars, I said “yes”. I think it’s because my mother said she would pay for it all. I have taught myself that whenever something is free, there’s an open window to take that opportunity. And now I’m not so happy that I chose such a choice.

And I am really hating learning to drive. It’s horrible! I just feel sorry for the other drivers behind me, I am so slow, and sometimes my turns are totally off, but luckily, that has only happened in the quiet streets where I wasn’t blocking anybody. Cars, being big clunks of metal that they are, according to my mother, I am going too far left onto the lanes, and I’m driving on the paint separating the lanes. And then my mother keeps getting angry at me for stuffing up, and today was only my second lesson.

zOMG! You would never have such a problem with motorbikes.

This is why motorbikes has always been my preferred mode of transport. They’re lightweight, they don’t take up the roads and I personally find them convenient, more convenient than cars, even though they do require more maintenance and purchasing safety gear can get expensive. But I don’t mind. In Australia, learning on a motorbike doesn’t require someone supervising you; you’re just on your own and I swear, the moment that day comes, I will be like, “Ahhh…” It’s annoying having someone telling you that you’re doing something wrong when you’re supposed to be focusing on the bloody road. It’s so bloody fatiguing.

Seriously, I will cherish the day I get a motorbike.

OMFG.

Last night, I went out with my friends to this half-bar, half-club place (it was a queer bar!). Seriously, I had one drink and I was already spewing. I refuse to believe that one cranberry and vodka could get me so drunk that I had to throw up two times. But that’s what happened. For two hours, I was just sitting on the bathroom floor - yes, I do realise it’s dirty on the bathroom floor - recovering from my “drunken” state.

Funny thing, about eleven or twelve people asked me if I was alright. They came up to me and said, “Are you alright? Do you need some water?” which was getting annoying after the third time. Though having said that, it’s nice to know that people care. I really was surprised about the concerned state of the people in the club. And I have a feeling I won’t be attending clubs for a while now because it’s the most fucking overrated thing in the history of ever.

I’m not the kind of person to go out to the club every Friday or Saturday and hang out with friends that way. It’s not my favourite way of socialising. Like I said before, I think it’s one of the most overrated leisure times in the history of ever. I don’t see what’s so great about it. It’s not like you can actually socialise anyway - the music is loud which means you literally have to scream to have a conversation - or don’t talk at all - and it’s fucking crowded, to the point where you’ll have trouble maneuvering. Just think of going to a concert, where you’re forced to stay where you are if you’re standing amongst the crowd. You just cannot move. The music is difficult to enjoy. Growing up in a school where the majority of students listened to mainstream trollop, I was pretty much forced to listen to the same things as them, even though I loathed it. It was just to hard listening to my favourite music, because there would always be people shooting my music tastes down. And so I am always skeptical being introduced to new music by someone else. And this is what the DJ does — it’s dance music that I don’t even know. And it’s not like dance music is the only thing you can dance to. So I have a real hard time getting into the groove of things. Music from the 80s helps a little, but it’s not the same as dancing to the original track, which is another issue I have with modern-day DJs today. And then the next morning, if you get drunk, you feel like fresh dog turd.

Being the ripe young age of 18, I get a lot of flack from my friends about refusing to go out clubbing with them, and it sucks, because the majority of my friends like clubbing which the hardest thing for me to digest.

Can anyone tell me the lure of clubbing? It’s loud, you can’t talk with friends, it’s crowded, and most of the time, the music’s shit. I don’t get it.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for The Sims. I’ve got the first game, plus all it’s expansion packs. I’ve the second series, and every expansion pack in the series so far, even all the Stuff Packs, in which they are a total rip off, but like I said before, I’m a sucker for the Sims. So when I heard that there was a third one coming out, I freaked out.

One thing I really enjoyed was the ability to be sadistic. Fans of The Sims may realise the ability to kill/humiliate their Sims in the most cruel ways. You can get your Sims to drink lots of coffee, get them to walk into a room then remove the door, with them resulting in peeing their pants. You could tell they were about to burst thanks to them holding their crotches. If you were lucky, you got to zoom up real close to their faces and see their facial expressions expressing discomfort, desperation and the fact that they knew they were going to be humiliated. Another way to kill your Sims was to get to them to cook something that would sit in the oven. Once they would put it in the oven, I would remove all the doors and then allow the food to cook in there. Once you saw that black smoke coming up from the stove, you knew it was going to burn. Then, fire ensued. And then death.

I’ve noticed that this theme of death in the Sims runs similar to other Will Wright games, Wright being the creator of The Sims and Sim City and the many similar versions after that. For example, in Sim City, you could release an alien invasion, create a wide-spread fire, flood the whole city, or create a hurricane to destroy everything. Though nothing would beat killing your Sims in The Sims. I personally preferred seeing them suffer; in Sim City, you couldn’t really see how desperate your city was, except the occasional message across the screen saying “OUR WEAPONS ARE FUTILE AGAINST THE ALIEN SPACESHIPS!” That was it. Nor could you hear screams of pain when civilians actually died. In The Sims, you could see and hear it all.

Don’t judge me now. Everyone’s got their own level of sadistic-icity (not a real word, I know). So what if there was a game solely on fulfilling that want? What if there was a game, similar to The Sims where you could create your person, but you would create him/her to torment them. The aim of the game would be to create as much misery as possible for your little torture victim, without pushing them onto the verge of a breakdown.  

To frustrate your little experiment, do things around the house that would frustrate him/her. You know, flush the toilet while your little person is taking a shower. Misplace your little person’s car keys. Make bills disappear from the house. Open the window and create a chill during winter time. Or better yet, create a chill and then pull off their blankets while they sleep. Point is, keep pushing your little person on the edge of insanity, but not so much that they would want to “escape”… you know what I mean. And heck, since you can create your little experiment, much like in The Sims regarding body type, facial features and clothes, you could re-create the person that you really loathe right now.

Hey, don’t judge me. I know all of you have got that evil side in you.

I was sexually harassed after work when I was on the train, and I sent my story to Hollaback Australia.

Just a little something: sexual harassment is very real. And it sucks that it happens to people who are minding their only business, only to have that happen to them, and then feel powerless because they cannot fight back. Not physically fight back, but get the person to stop being such a fucking douchebag. If someone yelled inappropriate things at you on the street, what are you going to do? Is it worth the hassle to report the person who sexually assaulted to you? After being sexually harassed, it’s not the greatest feeling in the world. The fact that sexual harassers - men especially - have the power to say such things to a woman and get away with it is really stupid. The fact that they can go ahead and violate someone’s body like that is so disrespectful. And what really gets to me all about this is when people say, “She asked for it.” The “she asked for it” concept basically means that it’s the victim’s fault - this is a form of victim-blaming. That’s why that concept is so flawed and full of shit.

And you know why? Because I did not ask to be sexually harassed. NO ONE in their right mind would want or ask to be sexually harassed. It’s just so fucking stupid. And yet this is how lawyers, judges, journalists (in relation to that, the media) and even friends and family treat people who do get sexually harassed, and it especially happens to rape victims. For example, if any of you have ever read a news article about someone getting raped, you’ll find that the journalist will mention things like the rape victim’s sexual history, what she (as females are usually in the spotlight about rape stories) was wearing, where she was and ask why she was there in the first place etc. No. Just no. Women should be able to walk around anywhere they want, wear whatever they want, do whatever they want (as long as it’s not illegal, of course!) and do it without the fear of something happening to them just because they’re women.

And it’s not their nor is it my fucking fault that they or I was born as a woman. Because you know who we should blame this on? Sexist arseholes that can’t be decent human beings and exercise some self-control. This kind of scenario runs parallel to Adam & Eve. Adam eats the apple, but Eve gets blamed for it because he tells God that she had somehow manipulated him into eating it. But you know what? Adam has free will. He can and could’ve choosen to eat it or not. And of course, Eve - the woman - gets blamed for Adam’s wrong doing. This is what’s exactly happening when people are sorely mistaken by believing in the concept of “She asked for it.” So before you have thoughts of, “But what was she doing there in the first place?” or “What was she wearing?” or “The woman should have realised what she was doing,” think about whose fault it really is. The victims, or the offenders?
